The Street Fighter II Pinball Machine is a collaboration between Premier/Gottlieb and Capcom, emerging onto the scene in the early months of 1993. Born from the iconic video game franchise, this pinball sensation is a true collector’s delight.
With a limited production run of just 5,550 units, this solid state electronic marvel boasts an array of features that catapult it into the realm of classic gaming. The playfield showcases five flippers, including one that intriguingly resides below the playfield and another that gracefully performs a 360-degree rotation. In this three-level playfield, two ramps shine, each unveiling an elevating entrance to allow ball access beneath. As the heart of the action, multiball mode steals the show, offering both 2-ball and 3-ball dynamics. Among the enticing attractions is a smashable car nestled within the lower playfield.
A collaborative masterpiece crafted by the skilled hands of Ray Tanzer, Mike Vettros, Bill Parker, and Jon Norris, this pinball experience seamlessly merges the realms of video gaming and tactile play. The artistic prowess of David Moore, Constantino Mitchell, and Jeanine Mitchell shines through in the captivating artistry, while the dots/animation and software wizardry are the work of Rand Paulin.
The objective of the Street Fighter II Pinball Machine is to conquer a succession of twelve opponents, each linked to a specific shot that must be expertly executed when the opponent’s name is illuminated by a white light. The thrill deepens as three opponents are constantly illuminated at the outset, starting with the formidable trio of E. Honda, M. Bison, and Sagat.
